1. Purpose
1.1. These General Terms and Conditions of Use are applicable to:
- any reservation of one or more visits, made by any natural or legal person (the "Customer"), online on the website or on site via the electronic terminal located at the exhibition entrance,
- a visit to the parcours BELEXPO organised by Brussels Environment, a public interest organisation with its registered office at Avenue du Port 86c/3002, 1000 Brussels and registered at the Crossroads Bank for Enterprises under number 0236.916.956 ("Brussels Environment").
1.2. The General Terms and Conditions of Use define the contractual relationship between Brussels Environment and the Customer, as well as the conditions applicable to any reservation and any visit, whether the Customer is a professional or a direct consumer.
1.3. The reservation of one ore more visits implies unreserved acceptance by the Customer of the General Terms and Conditions of Use.
1.4. The General Terms and Conditions of Use prevail over any other general or specific terms and conditions not expressly approved by Brussels Environment. The General Terms and Conditions of Use applicable are those in force on the website on the date of reservation of the visit. Brussels Environment reserves the right to adapt or modify the General Terms and Conditions of Use at any time, in accordance with the regulations in force.
2. Admission fees
Access to BELEXPO has been free since 1 January 2024.
3. Terms and conditions
3.1 Reservation
3.1.1 Reservations are compulsory for 8 people or more. Visits must be booked online. The Customer chooses the number of places required, the day and the time of the visit, according to availability. The available timeslots are indicated on the website. Some slots may be unavailable.
3.1.2 Reservations for individual visitors or groups of less than 8 people are recommended, but not compulsory. Reservations can also made on the same day at the electronic terminal in the BELEXPO reception area.
3.2 Acceptance of the General Terms and Conditions of Use
By clicking on "Validate" at the end of the ordering process on the website or via the electronic terminal and by ticking the box "I accept the General Terms and Conditions of Use", the Customer declares have read and accepted without reservation, the General Terms and Conditions of Use in their entirety.
4. Booking proof
4.1 Use
The booking proof is only valid for a visit of BELEXPO on the date and during the timeslot indicated on the ticket.
4.2 Issuing of tickets
The ticket is sent by email when reservation is made via the website, or issued immediately by the electronic terminal when tickets are purchased on site.
4.3 Changes to the booking
4.3.1 Reservations may be modified in the event of force majeure (strike, pandemic, illness of the teacher, etc.).
4.3.2 Brussels Environment cannot be held responsible in the event of force majeure disrupting the visit ot the parcours and, if necessary, leading to its total or partial closure. If, for reasons of force majeure, Brussels Environment has to restrict or refuse access to BELEXPO or to a substantial part of it, the visit may be rescheduled for a later date. In this case, Brussels Environment will not be able to reimburse any transport costs incurred.
5. Admission conditions
5.1 Arrival and organisation of the visit
5.1.1 The Customer must present their ticket for inspection at the entrance of BELEXPO no later than at the time indicated on the ticket. Access is on a first-come, first-served basis for Customers with a ticket for the current timeslot.
5.1.2 In the event of late arrival, the late Customer will only be admitted if the maximum number of Customers in the next timeslot has not been reached. A late Customer may be admitted to the parcours depending on the number of visitors, priority being given to Customers who have arrived on time. The aim is to ensure that every visitor has the best possible experience.
5.1.3 Once a visitor has left the parcours, they may not re-enter with the same ticket.
5.2 Ticket checks
All tickets are systematically checked at the entrance to BELEXPO.
5.3 Restriction of access
5.3.1 It is forbidden to enter BELEXPO with:
- dangerous, explosive, flammable or corrosive substances;
- handbags and backpacks;
- any item which, due to its purpose or characteristics, presents a risk to the safety of persons, the exhibition or its installations;
- any excessively heavy, bulky or smelly item;
- weapons and ammunition;
- umbrellas;
- beverages or food.
5.3.2 Brussels Environment reserves the right to refuse access to the parcours to Customers who display aggressive, hostile or agitated behaviour likely to breach the peace, threaten the safety of the public and staff, or contravene public decency.
5.3.3 Brussels Environment reserves the right to refuse access to the parcours to Customers who are clearly under the influence of alcohol or illegal substances.
5.3.4 Animals are not allowed in BELEXPO, with the exception of assistance dogs.

5.4.2 BELEXPO is closed to the public on the following days:
- public holidays
- 2nd, 3rd and 4th weekends of the month
- on the days indicated on the website
6. Cloakrooms
6.1 Cloakrooms are provided free of charge for Customers to deposit clothing, walking sticks, umbrellas, luggage, bags, etc. Any large bag or object must be left in the cloakroom.
6.2 Upon arrival, school groups must deposit their belongings in the trolleys provided.
6.3 For security reasons, acceptance of a bag or luggage at the cloakroom may be conditional on the Customer opening the bag or luggage. The reception staff may refuse objects deemed incompatible with the safety or smooth running of the exhibition.
6.4 Reception staff will accept items in line with the size and capacity of the cloakroom.
6.5 Brussels Environment accepts no liability in the event of loss, theft or damage to an item left in the cloakroom.
6.6 Any item left in the cloakroom must be removed on leaving the parcours and, in any case, on the same day before closing time.
6.7 Items found in the parcours and items left in the cloakroom that have not been retrieved, are kept for a period of one year. If they are not claimed by the end of this period, they are donated to charity.
6.8 Perishable foodstuffs are disposed of each evening after closing time.
6.9 Closed luggage or packages left in the parcours or cloakrooms which appear to present a security risk may be destroyed without delay or notice by the security services.
7. Using the digital wristband
7.1 Each Customer receives a connected digital wristband, i.e. containing identification information that the Customer has freely provided.
7.2 Customers receive their digital wristband from the reception staff who activate them before entering the parcours.
7.3 Customers are asked to wear their electronic wristband throughout the parcours. At the entrance to each section, Customers report their presence via the wristband and receive the interactive instructions specific to that section.
7.4 The results of the challenges completed by the Customers are recorded by the digital wristband and their results are sent by email in a secure manner. This email also gives them access to the private area of the BELEXPO website.
7.5 At the end of the visit, Customers leave their electronic wristbands in the areas provided. If a wristband has not been returned, a bell will ring to alert the reception staff and the Customer will be asked to return it.
8. General Customer behaviour
8.1 Customers shall ensure that the parcours areas are kept in a clean and tidy condition. Smoking, bringing food or beverages into the parcours and discarding papers, rubbish or chewing gum are forbidden.
8.2 Customers shall ensure that their behaviour does not pose a danger to the staff or to other Customers and does not damage the facilities or impair the proper conditions for visiting.
8.3 Customers are obliged to comply with the instructions given to them by the staff.
8.4 Customers who notice damage to the parcours or problems with the exhibits are asked to report this to the staff.
8.5 Customers are responsible for any damage they cause to the parcours and the exhibits.
9. Camera surveillance
9.1 The approaches to and areas around the parcours are filmed in compliance with the law of 21 March 2007 governing the installation and use of surveillance cameras. Pictograms warn of the video surveillance at the entrances to the filmed areas, in accordance with the Royal Decree of 10 February 2008 defining the manner of signalling the existence of camera surveillance.
9.2 The purpose of video surveillance is to provide general surveillance and to guarantee the safety and protection of property and buildings, as well as the people in them. Images are recorded in order to gather evidence of any acts constituting an offence or causing damage, and to search for and identify the perpetrators, public order offenders, witnesses or victims.
10. Emergency guidelines
When the alarms are triggered, Customers must leave the parcours and the building following the "normal exit" or "emergency exit" pictograms and taking into account the specific instructions given by the staff and the evacuation team.
11. Responsibility
11.1 Customers visit the parcours under their sole responsibility.
11.2 Brussels Environment does not accept liability in the event of theft (pickpockets or other), loss or damage to personal property or in the event of accidents occurring in or around the parcours.
11.3 Brussels Environment shall not be held liable if the total or partial non-performance or poor performance of its obligations under the General Terms and Conditions of Use is attributable (i) to the Customer, or (ii) to the unforeseeable and insurmountable act of a third party unrelated to the provision of the services provided for in the General Terms and Conditions of Use or (iii) to a case of force majeure.
11.4 The reservation website is accessible 7 days a week and 24 hours a day, subject to being taken offline for maintenance or repair or in the event of force majeure or any other event beyond the control of Brussels Environment. Brussels Environment shall not be held liable for any loss or damage suffered by the Customer due to the transmission of a virus, contamination of computer services or network failure.
12. Intellectual property
The parcours BELEXPO, as well as all its components (such as logos, trademarks, domain names, titles, images, website or other content) made available by Brussels Environment are the property of Brussels Environment or have been the subject of prior authorisation for use by third parties and may be protected by intellectual property rights. The Customer is not authorised to reproduce, exploit, rebroadcast or use in any way whatsoever, even partially, the components of the exhibition, whether they be software, audio or visual.
13. Protection of personal data
13.1 Within the framework of the performance of the contract, Brussels Environment processes personal data concerning the Customer (contact, visit data) in accordance with the legislation in force.
13.2. The data collected is used for the following purposes:
- booking and managing the visit (see above);
- sending the visit report and a souvenir photo to an email address;
- informing the Customer of the latest news from BELEXPO and suggesting complementary activities;
- informing the Customer of the educational projects run by Brussels Environment;
13.3. To these ends, contact and visitor data is retained until the Customer requests its deletion, or, at most, 24 months from the creation of a user account.
13.4 The Customer has the right to rectify and delete their personal data, as well as the right to limit or object to the processing carried out, by contacting Brussels Environment.
13.5 The Customer may also contact the Data Protection Officer at the following email address privacy@environnement.brussels and lodge a complaint with the Commission for the Protection of Privacy (35, rue de la presse - 1000 Brussels).
13.6 In addition, in the context of the reservation, personal data relating in particular to identity, address, telephone number, email address, are processed by the reservation system.
The collection of personal data is mandatory for these purposes. Without these personal data, the reservation is not possible.

15. Complaints and disputes
15.1 Any complaints about the conditions of the visit should be made at the time to the staff so that a solution can be found. Failing this, the visit will, by express agreement, be considered to have taken place to the Customer's satisfaction.
15.2 Any dispute relating to the performance or interpretation of the General Terms and Conditions of Use shall fall under the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the judicial district of Brussels.
15.3 The General Terms and Conditions of Use are subject to and interpreted in accordance with Belgian law.
